Mark 4:36-41 KJV

36And when they had sent away the multitude, they took Him even as He was in the ship. And there were also with Him other little ships. 37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, arrest thou not that we perish? 39And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Pease, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?

"Even the wind and sea obey Him." Wow, there's a lot to unpack there, but let's dive into the bigger picture of this scripture together.

How can we bring this scripture into our own lives? How do we deal with life's unexpected twists and turns? New seasons come our way whether we're ready or not, so we need a strong foundation to get through life's storms.

Just like the disciples, we often jump to the worst-case scenario instead of turning to the One who can calm our storms. As long as we're on this earth, we'll face challenges, just like the Word says. It's how we handle these storms that makes us different. I wish I had an easy answer, but I don't. I just know the One who helps me through every battle in life.

Even the disciples got scared during the storm, even though Jesus was right there with them in the boat. There's a lot going on in these scriptures, and we'll dig into more of it as we continue. But for now, let's focus on this: keep your eyes on Jesus, not just what's happening around you, because "Jesus is in the boat" with us.
